Legal Advocacy

Navigating the system can be overwhelming. We are here to walk with you.

Every day, Open Arms’ advocates are present in our local courts, both criminal and civil offering advocacy and support to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. We assist survivors with the paperwork needed to obtain protection orders and stand by them during court proceedings.

Although we do not provide lawyers or legal advice, advocates can help you through the court process so that you are not alone and it isn’t as overwhelming.  An advocate can make sure that you get connected to the right legal resources, help you understand the difficult language of the system and will attend appointments with you if you would like.

For legal advocacy services call or text 419-422-4766.

Support Groups

We hold several support groups for survivors in all stages of their healing to share experiences, learn healthy coping strategies, and receive emotional support. They are non‑judgmental, confidential, and trauma‑informed.

Support groups empower survivors by providing a safe space to share their experiences and emotions, helping them overcome fears and feelings of isolation.

For our support group schedule call or text our 24-hour hotline at 419-422-4766.
