Our emergency shelter provides a safe stay for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault and their children. The location is confidential, allowing for increased client safety during their stay.
Shelter is available to any adult or child accompanied by a parent/guardian who lives or works in Hancock County and is a survivor of domestic violence or sexual assault. Open Arms shelter is the only one in Hancock County that provides immediate, temporary housing for survivors of domestic violence or sexual assault and their children 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Our shelter is pet-friendly and offers a secure and compassionate environment for both individuals and their pets. Each case will be evaluated individually and depends on a variety of factors including space restrictions, client safety, and the size and quantity of pets. We require proof of documentation that any pets you want to bring with you to shelter are current on vaccinations and spayed/neutered.
